I’m Raven Barrett, a UX/UI Designer with a background in healthcare, research and data analytics. I’m highly interested in the social impact of digital technology and view the design process as an opportunity to amplify underrepresented voices.
My graduate and undergraduate studies have intersected my interests in understanding people through healthcare and technology. I’ve earned my Bachelor of Arts in Global Public Health & Sociology from New York University as well as a Master of Science in Health Informatics from Morehouse School of Medicine.
My transition from healthcare to UX design has not been easy, but I am always up for the challenge. I discovered UX design through a friend who recognized my creative and technical strengths and suggested that I take Google’s UX Design Certification Course.
It was love at first sight!
About Me
In My Free Time…
Outside of work, I enjoy expressing my creativity through many different art forms. I love to paint, draw, and design clothing. In my undergraduate years, I launched a clothing line called Hush NYC and would enjoy organizing product shoots and bringing my creative vision to life.
I also love to travel and go hiking in new locations. My last hike was at Lulumahu Falls in Honolulu, Hawaii - it was absolutely beautiful (and slippery)!!
Overall, I view UX design as an extension of my creative expression and an opportunity to expand my worldview, one project at a time.
